3 Steps To Becoming An Amazing Recruiter

Hey everyone!

We’re here to talk about how to become amazing recruiters who excel at building relationships and getting more people to say YES!

We feel like this is one of the most important parts of your business—so let’s dive right into it!

Step 1: Make The Ask

The first step is to make the ask. Make it directly! Get rid of the habit of assuming or prejudging, as these can really hold back your business. We often make assumptions like, “They would never be interested,” or “They’re too busy or successful.” But these assumptions only hurt our recruiting efforts!

We remember when we first started in this profession, someone waited four months to approach Sarah because they thought she wouldn’t be interested. It’s important to realize that we all have potential super stars in our lives, and we shouldn’t make decisions for them before they even have a chance to see the information.

The first thing we want to encourage you to do is to reach out to all those people you haven’t talked to about your business yet and make the ask. The only way to build a successful team in network marketing is by asking people to take a look. It’s not about begging or pressuring them. It’s simply about inviting them to explore the opportunity!

Remember, many of your customers could also be incredible distributors because they’re already fans of the product. So make sure you’re asking someone to look at your business every day!

The second thing we want you to avoid is assuming whether or not someone wants to join or not. You’re not a mind reader! That’s not your job. Your job is to ask them to take a look, and then it’s up to them to decide if they want to become a customer or build a business.

Trust us, you have potential eight-figure earners (just like us!) on your list that you’re not even talking to right now. Don’t let them slip away. You might be surprised to find out they’re actually open to it!

Step 2: Follow Up

So, you’ve made the ask. Now what? Most people aren’t ready for your opportunity the first time around, so following up is a key part of playing the long game and thinking long term. See, timing is everything in this business. It’s all about when people are ready to see your products, services, or opportunities. And sometimes, it takes multiple follow-ups.

But here’s the thing – if you focus on the long term and keep recruiting, sooner or later the timing will be right. Maybe it’s a few months down the road and suddenly they’re eager to join because they’ve had a change in their life. They just got laid off, restructured, or took a pay cut. They’re looking for ways to make money and they’re finally ready to say YES.

That’s why we always say, fall in love with the long-term game. Embrace the process and understand that not everyone is ready when you ask. In fact, we read a statistic that said 80% of the people we talk to aren’t in the right timing. So imagine how different your reaction would be if you knew that beforehand. You wouldn’t be discouraged by the no’s, you would just keep asking.

So stay connected with people, be a good friend, and follow up regularly. Ask if it’s okay to circle up in 90 days and see what’s new in their world. And trust me, it may take years, but it’s worth it. Some of those people will become incredibly successful in your business. It’s all about playing the long game, being patient, and supporting them through the ups and downs.

Step 3: Solve Their Problem

When you’re talking to people, remember—you have the solution to their problem! Instead of bombarding them with facts and figures, focus on selling the solution. Think about why people buy things – it’s because it fills a need. So be the problem solver, not just someone who shares facts.

Even in your early conversations, listen for the problems people mention: the desire for more time, more money, better health, or quality time with family.

But we get to help them through our business! We listen to what they’re saying and turn it into an invitation. For example, if our friend Susie tells us how she’s tired of missing all of Joey’s soccer games because she’s working so much, we’ll say, “Hey, Susie, remember how you told us how much it sucks to miss those games and it makes you feel like a bad mom? Well, we actually came across something that can give you more time with Joey. Would you be interested in checking it out?”

See, it’s all about being a problem solver and offering something that truly benefits them. People don’t care about fancy brands or products, they care about what’s in it for them. If you can show them how they can spend more time with their kids or get out of debt, they’ll be on board!

So to recap, here’s our advice:

Don’t assume that you know what people are or aren’t interested in—make the ask.
Remember that building relationships takes time—be patient and follow up.
People are more interested in you solving their problems than you telling them facts—be the problem solver.
