Does Your Network Marketing Story Stink?

First impressions mean a lot, right? So when we think about when we are prospecting someone, one of the main topics that come up is ‘how is business going for you?’. This can be tough when you’re first starting, especially if you feel your network marketing story stinks!

In today’s post, we want to help you create that story for a couple of reasons;

  1. Help you position yourself better in the marketplace and,
  2. Help you feel more confident about what you’re building.

Here’s the real deal. The most successful network marketers are exceptional storytellers. Whether their own story or experience, they share stories of those they’ve met along the way.

The key to the network marketing industry is connecting with people who will know, like and trust you. Stories are the best way to initiate that connection.

your Network Marketing Story Doesn’t Stink

There are many incredible stories inside you. And we get it; it can feel daunting trying to figure out what those are — but it’s worth it. So here are a few tips to help you get started!

Show them why you would want to come on this journey with you through your story.

  • Share your background (education, career, etc.)
  • Say what you didn’t like about your background (or need more of)
  • Share how your products, services or opportunity came into play
  • Share your results OR how you feel about what’s to come

Sharing your ‘past’ can help your story become relatable even without the results. What this does, is show your prospect that you get where they’re coming from.

This relatability factor is HUGE!

So, even though you may be in a position where network marketing hasn’t changed your life yet — that’s OK. Think about your circle of influence.

Who are the people in your corner supporting you and rooting you on? Maybe you have an excellent customer testimony or even your own! The more similarities you can create between you and your prospect, the better! Every single leader you come across has been where you ‘are.’

We all have a time when we felt our network marketing story sucked – but without that, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

Focus on where you’re going

This may not surprise you, but most people are intimated by huge paychecks or fancy cars. So many people out there are looking to earn a few extra hundred dollars a month — so focus on that.

Sure, there is a ton of abundance, but everyone needs to start somewhere. And, by sharing your story – humble beginnings – you will attract far more people, we promise.

Even now, we know that when we share where we started is far more powerful than sharing where we’re at. That is the key to your story.

Many people want to be a part of a journey. Somewhere they feel included and loved. With or without success in your own business, you CAN do that. Our goal each day is to breathe life into people. Of course, we want to show them the possibilities; however, that is never the primary focus.

Your network marketing story doesn’t stink – it’s still being created!
