As we embrace this new year, it’s the perfect moment to reflect on our past experiences: the good, the challenging, and the transformative. It’s a time to appreciate our resilience and achievements: we made it through another year, and that’s something to celebrate!

But let’s explore a vital question: “What should we focus on in 2024 to advance both our personal and business growth?” Here’s a hint – it’s about doing things that propel us forward! So let’s dive into our favorite ways to move our businesses in the right direction this year.

1. Know Yourself, Know Your Customer

In 2024, understanding our customers is key, especially in the online business realm. But here’s the secret: often, our ideal customer is a reflection of ourselves! Take time to journal and deeply understand your own needs, struggles, and dreams. This self-awareness will fuel your content creation, making it authentic and relatable. When you share your real experiences, you’ll find people saying, “That’s exactly how I feel!” This is true for both product or service sales and recruiting. What are the products or services you need in your life? What types of circumstances brought you to the point where you wanted to start your own business? This type of understanding is priceless, and as it’s the very thing that’s going to bring people to you and your business.

2. Choose What Lights You Up

This year, let’s commit to engaging only in activities that ignite our passion. Many of us lost people we loved in the past year, and were reminded that life is truly short—so we have to focus on joy and fulfillment. Make every day count by doing what you love. Set boundaries and say no to what doesn’t serve you, to say yes to what does!

3. Master That One Skill

We all have that one skill or task we’ve been avoiding. Let 2024 be the year we conquer it! Dedicate yourself to mastering this skill – not just getting by, but truly excelling. We just had a few accent walls in our house painted by an amazingly talented woman who, before three years ago, had never painted before. But she had three kids and wanted to change careers. When I asked how she made that transition, she simply said, “I wanted to do it, so I just figured it out.” She found the resources, taught herself, and became unstoppable. Be like Catherine!
