A couple years ago now, we found ourselves wondering if we should start a blog for our business. We had (and are constantly adding to) hundreds of pieces of content we wanted to share with the world!
Sure, we share a TON of content on our social media channels but, it didn’t quite act as a hub like we wanted it to. Social media is forever updated with all kinds of content and our business goodies aren’t always easy to find.
And so, here we found ourselves in early 2018.

Should YOU Start a Blog for your Business?
Although we are about to share with you a few of our top reasons you should — we know that it’s not for everyone. Like everything else in business, it requires a commitment and consistency.
We like to implement a majority of written content however, it is also possible to add video content as well if that’s your jam.
Alright, let’s get into it.
Control your Income
Should you choose to start a blog, there are so many different ways of creating your income. In our Facebook Group, we often talk about the different ways to do that. Believe it or not, with so many different sources of content in every niche imaginable, blogging allows you to create an income exploring topics that you love.
And, when you do something you love, you know it is much easier to find that much needed motivation. When you pair that with the large potential for being paid what you’re truly worth, blogging is a hard business model to pass over.
You can Blog from Anywhere!
Like our other business, blogging allows you to work from anywhere in the world. We have blogged from our home in Minnesota down to Costa Rica on vacation with our team and shortly we’ll be in Europe!
It is incredible. We can block time for content creation and then spend our days with family or exploring new places.
Maybe this is true freedom after all.
Minimal Start-Up Costs
If you look at any business, to start a blog the costs are minimal. Truth is, it’s a business you can grow without even having a budget. While building your business, you know that having a marketing budget is a problem that most people face, right?
That budget we need isn’t always there, right? And it’s where those emotions of self-doubt or uncertainty kick in. There are many free platforms you can blog on (Medium is a solid go-to) but even to start your own … could be as low as a domain name and some hosting ($10-15/month).
And we don’t want to mislead you either — creating a site from scratch if this isn’t your forte would be incredibly time consuming. So before diving head first, consider one of the free platforms to explore your motivation and consistency to blog.
Nothing worse than spending hours an/or dollars on something that will end up being a chore over a passion.
Overall, if you have been considering to start a blog for your business — explore that. Whether it be writing a blog or creating video for a Vlog if this is your passion – do that.
