Regardless of how many ‘new wave’ internet marketing strategies come down the pipeline, that doesn’t mean you should throw away all the effective ways to reach prospects and customers online. You know, the ones that have been around for years? They can be as good, if not better, at generating leads and growing sales. Today’s post will share several ways to promote your business on a tight budget.

Because guess what? We’ve ALL been there.

There are several proven ways to market your business online. The following are proven methods we found worked for us and we believe can work for you.

Promote your Business on a Tight Budget

Some forms of business naturally attract customers, like word of mouth; however, they are few and far between. And, when you think about it, this is probably not true for your business.

Word of mouth comes from actually having customers already, right? So, let’s work on getting your business out there — even on a tight budget.

network marketing story

Leverage your Local Community

Now, leveraging your community can be done online and offline. Let us explain. Think about events that are going on in your community. Ask yourself, how can I be a part of that? Maybe it’s a small sponsorship of a sports team or fundraiser if you have a small budget to work with.

Alternatively, consider volunteering for an event happening in your area.

Get you and your name out there!

Generally, there are online events promoting these activities as well — get in there! Local communities can be incredibly supportive. You just have to give them a chance to be there!

Collaboration over Competition

Create a local group (or online group) with businesses that align well with yours but aren’t in direct competition. Agree to promote each other’s services (this is where alignment is key). You can also use these connections to grow your network.

Since we know that word-of-mouth advertising is so powerful, get out there and get your name in other businesses’ mouths’. With a group of like-minded people — you never know where collaboration can lead you to!

Network with Others inside your Target Audience

Let’s use us as an example. We work with a ton of parents. And so, in knowing this, we spend a lot of time connecting in parent groups online; support, sports, events, etc.

Additionally, don’t think of networking as those events you show up to and hand out a business card. Instead, think outside the box.

First, list all the activities that align with your business — who needs your products or services. Then, put yourself in a position to meet those people.

Give it Away!

Look at your business (and budget) and determine what, if anything, you can give away.

Maybe it’s samples of a product or a free consult call of your services.

But, at the very least, give away VALUE. Give your audience something they can take away from you — it might surprise you how many people will come back to you and, this time, ready to buy.

Were these few things helpful?
