The start of a new year is traditionally a time to make a list of one or more resolutions to help you attain personal goals, right? Typical new year’s resolutions are to lose 10 pounds, spend more time with family and friends, quit smoking, eat healthier, travel to beautiful places, become debt-free, or read more books. 

Now, these are all worthwhile resolutions and personal goals. Still, if you are an entrepreneur and network marketer, you would be silly not to also look at new year’s resolutions (intentions, themes or otherwise) for your business. 

Here are a few you may want to consider going into 2022. 

New Year’s Resolutions for Network Marketers

We will share with you a few New Year’s Resolutions ideas that may or may not serve your business. In some cases, they may not apply to you; in other cases, be open to modifying them to accommodate. 

Review your Business Plan

(Don’t have one? Make one!) Review, evaluate and update your business plan. This is to ensure it remains consistent with your business goals for the short and the long term.

Find an Accountability Partner

The American Society of Training and Development did a study on accountability. They found people are 65% more likely to meet a goal after committing to another person. Although, that chance of success increases to 95% when they build in ongoing meetings with their partners to check in on their progress.

Think Ahead. Plan Ahead

While the holidays can hold a lot of the hustle and bustle, many network marketers face a quieter time as others are busy. Use this time wisely to create a plan going into the first quarter. Use this as a broad scope of what you need and want to cover through your;

  1. offerings
  2. value
  3. content
  4. promotions

… and everything else suitable for your business. Fail to plan, plan to fail. 

Make Balance a Priority

Here are some great ways to add balance to your New Year’s resolutions;

  • Exercise where you can. Consider taking a phone call while you go for a short walk even.
  • Spend time with people you care about. 
  • Get better sleep at night. Staying off your phone for an hour before bed will help you sleep easier.
  • Self-care! Watch a movie, take a long hot bath, journal, do a crossword puzzle, or whatever will help you relax and recharge. 

Learn Something New

What you choose to learn may be directly related to or completely unrelated to your business. Learning something new will add to and amplify your skills and add further depth or interest to your life. Work that muscle we call your brain! 

Drop what isn’t Working

This can be a tough one for your New Year’s resolutions. Take some time to audit your past year – a year in review. Learn to drop the things that just simply aren’t adding any benefit to your business (any longer). 

And, to add to that, if dropping it isn’t in the cards … outsource what has you stuck. Too often, network marketers and entrepreneurs get caught in this trap of bootstrapping their business(es) and fail to see some of the things holding them back are entirely their fault.
