Ever find yourself getting caught up in your own head? Whether it be an analysis paralysis kinda deal or self-doubt creeps in and you find yourself questioning your business, success or otherwise? Probably a little cliche to say but, we’ve ALL been there. In today’s blog, we want to give you some key strategies to help you take charge of your life and as a result, your business.

See, so many people that we connect with on a daily basis know something is missing but they can’t quite pin point it. Based on our experience we’ve learned that so many people can benefit from something like an online business.

There are several reasons for this;

  1. Being around the right (ambitious, goal oriented) people
  2. Something you can call you own (part-time hobby with full-time potential)
  3. Gives a sense of purpose, creating impact, etc.
  4. And, a little (or a lot) extra money never hurts either!

Regardless of where you’re at in your life or in your business, we are confident that there is a place for you and these strategies will help push you forward through the process.

Time to Take Charge of your Life!

Successful people make decisions fast and change them slowly

This was something a mentor of ours shared with us many years ago and it has stuck after all this time. Why? Because it makes the MOST sense — but we promise it didn’t at the time. However, you can probably agree that we are all afforded with choices in some capacity, right? And, as we spoke about briefly above, we are the WORST for getting in our own way.

It’s as though we get excited, we say YES and then we talk ourselves out of it …

Then back into it …

And the cycle continues.

But what if you ran with that excitement? What if you took that empowering and excited feeling and went to work on that business, project or otherwise. Imagine the greatness that could be in store for you. See, there are benefits to saying yes to a business for example, where there are already certain things in place;

  1. Product lines
  2. Training
  3. Culture

It lends to the ideology of others showing us what’s possible. Additionally, in a lot of ways it’s designed to set us up for success and that friends, are winners.

In the video above a ton of strategies on how to take charge of your life and we want to include our top 3 here with you as well.

Getting out of the Comparison Trap

Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt personally victimized by your own negative thoughts. Specifically, the kind of thoughts that sound something like, “She’s so much more talented than I am”, or “At my age, I should be just as successful as they arewe HEAR you.

And because we hear you, we hope you’ll receive our message on this topic …

It’s human nature to compare ourselves against others in one way or another. But rather than stirring over thoughts that steal our power, we can slowly shift our focus toward ones that remind us of our potential. A great way to help break out of the comparison trap is through affirmations — something (or multiple things) we tell ourselves daily that remind us of how great we are. Here are a couple examples;

  1. I am guided on the path that is meant for me at the perfect time
  2. I am grateful for who I am and who I am becoming

Let us know if there are affirmations you practice daily — we’d love to hear them! We encourage you to make an effort every single day to practice more of this in your life. What’s the worst that could happen? Better yet — Imagine what GOOD can happen!

Learn how to Say No to the Things that Simply do NOT Serve you

When you ask someone how they are, 95% of the time they will answer with some version of “busy”, “good, but busy” or even, sometimes, “crazy busy”. So many of us struggle to say no, fearing rejection, anger or just the uncertainty of how the other person will react. Our people-pleasing is often rooted to back when we were younger — recognizing it however is what matters right now.

We can get so used to saying yes and pleasing others that we don’t even know what we want, or what our needs are. But if your life is so tightly packed with other people’s requests that you don’t have time for what really matters to you – it’s time to change that.

And yes, it WILL be tough at first (especially when you’re so used to saying yes) however, this is a habit 100% worth breaking. And guess what? Learning to say no to the things that do not serve you is not only empowering but can feel incredibly liberating. In doing so, this allows you the time that you not only desire but deserve for the things that matter most to you.

Shift to Being Productive instead of just Busy

One thing that has truly helped us over the years and can help you take charge of your life is having a Daily Method of Operations. This is essentially like a daily ‘to-do’ list for your business. As the name suggests, it should include the tasks you need to accomplish each day and ideally are ones that are non-negotiable.

For example, we have set targets for how many new connections to make in a day or what type of content we want to create. This lists of tasks are things that will help you push your business forward and when done consistently, habits (good ones!) will start to emerge.

Having a solid Daily Method of Operations will help keep you out of the scrolling world and into action steps for your business. We have found that when we shifted our business from being a predominantly offline model to an online one, that getting lost in the rabbit holes of social media was a REAL thing. And as a result, we learned some tough lessons over the beginning stages of our journey online.

Needless to say, we wasted far too much time but, after working with mentors who encouraged us to apply these Daily Method of Operations as it pertained to an online business model — the game changed!
