If you are anything like us, we initially began our journey in entrepreneurship completely offline. And so, as the times changed we knew we needed to adapt as well. This is where we reached out to those crushing it online to help us build our online presence.

In this blog, we want to share with you a few key strategies that helped us;

  1. Establish our online presence and,
  2. Create a solid following as a result.

2 Tips to Help you Establish an Online Presence

The following tips will help you when it relates to the ‘where do I even start?’ question (we hear a lot!). Additionally, we want to equip you with some action points you can take advantage of as early as today!

Set/Know your Intentions

This can viewed as almost an extension to your business goals. For example, you may have a certain number of people you connect with in a day or an income level you want to attain, right?

Think about the process you took to set those goals.

Use the same strategy when setting your intentions for growing your online presence. Factors you want to consider are;

  1. What platform(s) you want to use
  2. Think about content you consume (and would like to deliver)
  3. Who is your audience and what do they want the most
  4. Be intentional with the content you produce and be clear on your desired outcome

You see, when you have a clear vision of what you hope to achieve when you are creating your videos, stories, blogs, images, etc. your confidence will shine through sooner which almost always results in building a strong online presence. The key however is consistency. Set your intentions and work hard at them.

Sure, they may require tweaks along the way — but allow at least 60-90 days before making too many adjustments.

Create Relevant Content for your Audience

No surprise here, right?

Content is everything when it comes to your online presence. If you are ever struggling to come up with content to roll out consider a “how-to” or “tutorial” post, these provide consumers with valuable advice related to your industry.

This type of content allows you to shine where your strengths are. We always encourage our clients, teams and community members to mix up their content with some humor, personal shares or otherwise as well.

However, this of course can vary based on your platform of choice. Be mindful about where you are delivering the content — this is key. For example, if you are rolling out content on LinkedIn, this platform requires a different tonality than what you might roll out on Facebook.

Spend some time on each platform and find where you believe your voice fits best!

You only have a few seconds to make a first impression online, so take the care and concern for your business to ensure you are putting your best ‘foot‘ forward.

What questions to you have about building online? We would love to explore those answers with you and help YOU crush it online.
